I’m fucking tired of reading all the “hurr dis iz wut type it iz” in the Ninfia tag

I’m just going to wait till Pokemon Smash airs Saturday night to get an official say, and you all should too.

If you don’t know what Pokemon Smash! is, it’s basically a weekly variety show revolving around Pokemon in Japan, and it’s known to be the stage for announcements like this. In fact, Zoroark was announced through Pokemon Smash, thus beginning the 5th Generation, and Black and White 2 were also announced first on Smash.  Through the power of the Internet, people can watch streams of it through Keyhole TV (http://www.v2p.jp/video/english/). 

So just wait till Saturday night (when it’s Sunday in Japan), and if they decide to make an announcement you’ll hear it then.

Anyhoo predictions:

Typing

Leafeon and Glaceon were called Leafia and Glacia in Japan

Ninf could be Japan’s attempt at compressing Nymph into six letters, and the ia follows the naming convention. 

Nymphs are types of insects.

So Bug type. 

However, unlike the previous Eeveelutions, the Bug type was not formerly special only, it was physical only.

So it could be a unique take on the Dragon-type somehow, since that’s the only former special only type that the Eeveelutions haven’t covered.

And no, there will be no light type. There hasn’t been new types in 3 generations, and there’s 649 Pokemon to account for type changes. Game Freak would shoot themselves in the foot with that. 

albruce-jzcruzer-captainx: Who Do You Think Would Win? Depends. Dog is a standard bulky attacker and has more HP and Defense than Cat does, meaning it’ll stick around in a fight longer. However, Cat has plenty of priority moves, high Speed stat, and the ability Nine Lives, which is one of the most OP abilities in the metagame today. But since this is a Little Cup battle, it could go either way and it’s really up to the skills of the trainers.
